A Romantic Mill Race Wedding | Jenna + Drew

A Romantic Mill Race Wedding | Jenna + Drew

By an Ann Arbor Wedding Photographer

As an Ann Arbor wedding photographer, I’m always excited to explore new place. Jenna and Drew’s wedding day was a beautiful blend of quiet intimacy and charming settings. From a heartfelt first look in a lush backyard to exchanging vows beneath the trees at Mill Race Village, every moment felt intentional and full of joy.

Getting Ready in Northville

The day began at Drew’s mother’s gorgeous home in Northville, Michigan, where the couple got ready with their closest friends. The house was full of light, laughter, and anticipation.

After a few relaxed moments and some prep photos, Jenna and Drew met on a small wooden bridge behind the house for their first look.

There, over the water, they shared private vows—a quiet, emotional exchange that was truly one of the most meaningful parts of the day. After capturing a few portraits of just the two of them in the serene backyard, we made our way to the ceremony location.

A Gorgeous Ceremony at Mill Race Village

I had never photographed a Mill Race wedding before, and wow—it completely took my breath away.

Located in Northville, Mill Race Village is a storybook setting with blooming gardens, historic buildings, and dappled light filtering through a canopy of trees.

The couple tied the knot in a cozy white gazebo, surrounded by friends and family. A soft breeze and birdsong made it feel like something out of a movie.

After the ceremony, we captured family photos and wedding party portraits, and Mill Race offered no shortage of dreamy spots for pictures. Every turn seemed more perfect than the last.

Downtown Northville Portraits

After leaving Mill Race, we made a quick stop in Downtown Northville for a few portraits. The quaint storefronts and brick sidewalks added a touch of charm and whimsy to their gallery. It was the perfect way to transition into the evening.

A Cozy Dinner at Table Five

We wrapped the night with dinner and toasts at Table Five, an elegant yet relaxed restaurant nestled in the heart of downtown Northville. Jenna and Drew’s family and friends shared heartfelt speeches with their loved ones over delicious food, ending their wedding day exactly the way it began—surrounded by love and good company.

Jenna and Drew’s wedding was full of natural beauty, intentional moments, and relaxed joy. I feel so lucky to have been part of it.

If you’re planning a wedding at Mill Race Village or looking for an Ann Arbor wedding photographer who will document your day with care, I’d love to hear from you!
